Triggered By Oral Sex Woman Has Stroke Almost Dies

According to a new report from the British Medical Journal, an unidentified 44-year-old woman suffered a “transient loss of consciousness (TLOC)” while receiving oral sex from her partner. The British woman had to go to the hospital after an intense impending orgasm triggered the stroke.
The woman was unconscious for two to three minutes after the sex, her partner got nervous and took her to the emergency room at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London. Doctors later learned she had experienced a blackout caused by a sudden lack of blood supply to the brain, also known a reflex-mediated syncope, according to IFLScience.com. The woman told doctors she had a headache that she described as a 6 out of 10 on the pain scale, according to the The Sun, the man told doctors his partner’s body had gone stiff during their session. At first, doctors believed, based on the symptoms, that the woman had suffered a seizure.

“On closer history taking, the patient reported nearing orgasm while receiving oral sex from her partner before losing consciousness,” the authors wrote in their report for the BMJ. A CT scan and a CT angiography showed she had an aneurysm, leading to a subarachnoid hemorrhage ― a kind of stroke. “Studies with intra-arterial monitoring during coitus demonstrate that during sexual activity blood pressure, as well as heart rate, is very labile, with particular rises during orgasm.” “Activities that involve sudden increases in blood pressure and sexual activity is well described as a precipitant,” they write in the case report. The researchers said it’s not unheard of for orgasms to cause stroke. The report said doctors treated the woman with a procedure called endovascular coiling, which uses a catheter to transmit a tiny coil to seal off the aneurysm from blood flow. She was released from the hospital 15 days later. Four months later, doctors say, she’s suffered no further problems.

In Order To Explore Human Emotions This Artist Photographs Sex Dolls

Sex dolls — sometimes called love dolls — often transcend their function as toys. They’ve been used to spark not just physical but also mental and emotional responses in human beings. “It would be impossible to live forever if you’re human, but dolls will never go anywhere. So I thought about giving the gift of life and identity to dolls,” the artist explained. In his project “Still Lives: Eva,” New York-based visual artist June Korea explores loneliness and other emotions through a series of photographs featuring a female sex doll. Korea has been photographing dolls since 2001, a pursuit driven by his personal feelings of loneliness. He often finds himself meditating on the ephemerality of life and happiness, he told HuffPost Korea. Korea says that the emotions he was able to curate in this essay were drawn from personal encounters. “Most of the scenes are from my own memories and experiences,” he explained. “These photographs are like a mirror that reflects who I am.”

After meeting her for the first time ― in a FedEx box ― he decided to name the doll Eva. “The name is a combination of forever, representing eternity and Eve, humanity’s first woman,” Korea said. In the photo essay, Korea and Eva share a meal, go shopping and go for walks. In different images across the collection, the doll appears to be lonely, vulnerable, pensive and even disappointed. Korea plans to continue to photograph Eva. “I think of this as a lifelong project, but I still haven’t decided how the story will end,” he says. But he already anticipates that he will face a few challenges. “As time passes, I will grow older, but Eva will not,” he noted. “I expect that the story will portray this process and the feelings of estrangement, alienation, loneliness and other various emotions that may follow,” Korea concluded. “Could the ultimate ending be death, a breakup or a happy ending?”

We Might Not Want To Answer If Aliens Call, Says Stephen Hawking

The renowned theoretical physicists hosts “Stephen Hawking’s Favorite Places,” a new short film available on the streaming service Curiosity Stream. The film follows Hawking around the universe as he “travels” in a computer-generated imagery spacecraft, giving the audience a peek into simulations of a black hole and Gliese 832c, an earth-like planet outside our solar system that scientists believe may be able to support life. Stephen Hawking has said it before and he’ll say it again: If extraterrestrials call, do not answer ― at least, not without careful consideration. And Gliese 832c isn’t even the closet possible second-Earth. In August, scientists announced that Proxima b, a planet orbiting Proxima Centauri — the nearest known star to our sun — has a temperature that could allow liquid water and is possibly habitable.

But if we ever get a signal from any of these places, Hawking warns that we shouldn’t be too eager to say hello. It’s an idea Hawking has expressed numerous times before — typically using human beings as an example of why we shouldn’t trust other intelligent life. “We should be wary of answering back,” he says in the film, according to USAToday. “Meeting an advanced civilization could be like Native Americans encountering Columbus — that didn’t turn out so well.” “I imagine they might exist in massive ships, having used up all the resources from their home planet. Such advanced aliens would perhaps become nomads, looking to conquer and colonize whatever planets they can reach.” It’s an idea Hawking has expressed numerous times before — typically using human beings as an example of why we shouldn’t trust other intelligent life. “We only have to look at ourselves to see how intelligent life might develop into something we wouldn’t want to meet,” he told The Times of London in 2010. Well, we’re convinced. NASA, we really hope you’re listening.
