The Artist Behind This Election’s Most Controversial Image Is Back

The Crow here for c4oc radio

He was in the midst of responding to a question that was, well, not about his penis. Donald Trump was participating in March’s GOP debate when he alluded to his penis size. “He referred to my hands,” Trump said, referencing insults lodged by Senator Marco Rubio. “If they’re small, something else must be small. I guarantee you there’s no problem. I guarantee it.” Trump’s not-so-subtle nod at genitalia in such a professional ― even presidential ― forum shocked the entire nation. But perhaps no one was more surprised than 24-year-old artist Illma Gore. Just a month earlier, Gore had posted a drawing to Facebook titled “Make America Great Again,” depicting the former reality TV star completely nude. His penis, as rendered in the drawing, is quite petite. “No matter what is in your pants, you can still be a big prick,” Gore wrote alongside the NSFW piece. Gore explained in an interview with The Huffington Post. “If I had drawn him with a big penis, you’d associate that with the qualities of a powerful leader. A small penis, you think, ‘Oh, that’s an excuse for why this person is the way he is.’ But that’s wrong.” Gore intended to challenge preconceptions about gender and sexuality through her drawing, illuminating the problems with a culture that equates a small penis with weakness. “It’s about this pseudo-masculinity that this man, I feel, just exudes.”

In a statement on Instagram, Gore expanded upon the idea motivating the work: “Society treats effeminacy like it is bad in comparison to the idea of a ‘real man.’” The piece was therefore meant to attack these ingrained preconceptions, not affirm them. The body depicted in Gore’s drawing belongs, in real life, to one of her friends, who served as her model. “Someone I believe to be masculine and beautiful,” she explained. “All the sudden, with Trump’s head, everything changed.” “I never expected it to go as far as it did,” she said. “I lost my voice in there.” Gore uploaded the image to Facebook with absolutely no idea how much it would blow up. The image gained traction on Reddit and various websites around the web, while Gore’s own social media accounts were disabled as a result of the nudity. The original message of the work became overshadowed by the country’s brewing Trump hate. What was initially an attempt to praise unconventional bodies ended up resembling body-shaming. Not long after her artwork went viral, Gore began receiving phone calls from people claiming to work for Trump’s legal team. She was slapped with a DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) takedown notice demanding she remove the image from her accounts. And then, the death threats started rolling in. Hysteria surrounding Gore’s artwork reached a bizarre peak one day in Los Angeles when the artist was walking through a neighborhood close to a Trump rally. Having recently appeared in a few televised interviews regarding the piece, she was more recognizable than your average well-known artist. While walking by herself down a side street, a car slowed down alongside Gore and a group of young men started yelling at her, calling her a bitch and cheering for Trump. Eventually one of the men jumped out of the car and punched Gore in the face. The men then, laughing, reportedly sped off screaming, “Trump 2016!” “Is it weird to say I’m kind of proud that someone punched me in the face because of one of my drawings?” Gore laughed, clearly overwhelmed by the weirdness of it all.

Because Life Just Isn’t Scary Enough Wasps Are Now Forming ‘Super Nests’

The Crow here for c4ocradio.com

Wasps are forming massive “super nests,” (Hail the new insect overlords) with thousands of insects ready to sting, according to agricultural experts in Alabama. These super nests can be attached to cars, inside garages and sheds, in or on the ground, or on homes. The Alabama Cooperative Extension System warned of nests the size of a Volkswagen Beetle, with as many as 15,000 wasps inside ― up to four times the size of normal nest. Imagine a colony of yellow jackets the size of a car, filled with thousands of stinging insects. Now, imagine more than 90 nests in the state. It happened in 2006 and an Alabama Extension entomologist says 2019 may mirror 2006. The winter freeze usually kills off most colonies. But that doesn’t always happen ― and when a colony survives the winter, a super nest can form. “The queens are the only ones who have an antifreeze compound in their blood,” Charles Ray, an entomologist with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, told The New York Times. He said climate change is one reason for the survival of so many colonies: So normally, a surviving queen will have to start a colony from scratch in the spring. With our climate becoming warmer, there might be multiple surviving queens producing more than 20,000 eggs each.

View image on Twitter

“Any place where it’s good shelter, where it doesn’t freeze, the colony probably won’t die off,” Clint Hester of Stark Exterminators told the station. “So you have the new ones, plus the old workers and double the size of the colony in just one year.” The Alabama Extension said this year is already outpacing 2006, when some 90 of these massive super nests were found in the state. WFSA, the NBC station in Montgomery, said 15 have been found this year so far. WSB, the ABC station in Atlanta, said Georgia officials are already watching out for these super nests, warning in particular of yellow jackets, an aggressive wasp that often forms nests in the ground. Stark warned people not to mess with the massive nests themselves, but to call in an expert. UGA expert says if you see 2 in your yard, there may be 2-thousand nearby. And while Alabama seems to be where the nests are concentrated ― so far ― neighboring states are also concerned. “Yellow jackets will defend the nest to the death, fighting tooth and nail,” University of Georgia agricultural agent James Murphy, who is investigating the Alabama super nests, told the station. “And unlike bees, they can sting multiple times.” The Alabama Extension said every sting increases your chances of becoming sensitive to the venom and suffering a reaction, which in some cases can be fatal. If you are confused about the different types of wasps and what to do when you find a nest, The Alabama Extension shared a primer: Knowing the basic information about these insects may reduce your chances of getting stung. #Wasps #Summer #WaspStings #YellowJackets #Hornets

Rangers Find 3-Eyed Snake In Australian Outback

Wildlife authorities in Northern Australia probably did a double take after this sighting along a highway: a three-eyed snake. Rangers discovered the 16-inch baby carpet python in March, just outside of a town called Humpty Doo, according to a Facebook post. It was generally agreed that the eye likely developed very early during the embryonic stage of development. It is extremely unlikely that this is from environmental factors and is almost certainly a natural occurrence as malformed reptiles are relatively common. An X-ray of the creature showed it was especially unusual in that it had one skull with an additional eye socket and three functioning eyes, not two separate heads forged together. Prof Bryan Fry speculated the third eye might have been “the last little bit of a twin that’s been absorbed.” The three-eyed snake was nicknamed ― what else? Monty Python.

Snake expert Prof Bryan Fry of the University of Queensland told the BBC that mutations such as an extra eye are a natural part of evolution. “Every baby has a mutation of some sort ― this one is just particularly coarse and misshapen,” Fry said. “I haven’t seen a three-eyed snake before, but we have a two-headed carpet python in our lab ― it’s just a different kind of mutation, like what we see with Siamese twins.” “It’s remarkable it was able to survive so long in the wild with its deformity, and he was struggling to feed before he died last week,” Ranger Ray Chatto told News.com.au. Although the Facebook post showing the three-eyed snake attracted lots of attention, at least one commenter didn’t think the animal was the weirdest part of the story. “Not even disturbed by the three eyed snake … just incredibly amused that there’s a place called Humpty Doo,” Alysha Day wrote.

Someone reported seeing the women Wednesday morning in their birthday suits at a rest area off Interstate 75, according to WFTS-TV in Tampa Bay. Three women in Florida are behind bars after lounging au naturel at a rest stop and then leading Pasco County officers on a high-speed chase that ended when one of them tried to attack officers with a pink baseball bat, authorities said. The three women said they had been staying at a relative’s house but left after an argument. Having nowhere else to shower, they said they used soap and water to bathe on the grass outside the rest stop building. A Florida Highway Patrol officer who responded to the call said that when she questioned the naked suspects, one of them said they had showered and were “air drying.” The women did get dressed before speaking to the state troopers, but then got into a white 2009 Nissan Sentra and drove away before the questioning had finished, according to WTSP-TV. The three women, identified as Oasis Mcleod, 18, Jeniyah Mcleod, 19, and Cecilia Young, 19, now face charges of fleeing to elude police, three counts of resisting arrest, two counts of aggravated assault and three counts of lewd behavior.

Troopers tracked down the vehicle to a convenience store parking lot. One trooper tried to arrest one of the women when she left the store, but her colleague appeared to purposely drive the car at the officer, authorities reported. At the same time, another woman got out of the car with a pink baseball bat and tried to hit the officer, according to an officer’s account in The Smoking Gun. The Nissan again drove away and was pursued by police. Authorities said they eventually stopped the car using spike strips. As officers busted out the windows of the car, the women interlocked arms to keep from being arrested, according to the New York Post. The women were shocked with Tasers before being taken into custody and sent to the Pasco County Jail, where they remained behind bars as of Friday evening, according to jail records charged with several counts of elude police.

Nutcase Takes on Gator While Gator Takes on Cop Car

The beast was either dull in the skull or wanted to take a bite out of crime when it latched on to the vehicle’s front bumper and wouldn’t let go, even after the Alachua County officer put the car in reverse. One moxie alligator decided to stand up to the long arm of the law near Gainesville, Fla., by going head to grill with a deputy’s squad car Sunday. Once it was dragged by its teeth several feet, it finally released its grip and was taken into custody by a trapper. Officials wouldn’t say if the beast would be relocated to the nearby state park from which they thought it came, but added that aggressive gators are usually harvested… a nice way a saying he might be looking good as a pair of boots soon.

I was in Florida that same day to set up my new lake home I purchased recently and got to meet a similar wildlife neighbor. By coincidence, “Al” I cleverly dubbed the almost 7-foot gator as he approached shoreline just off the screened-in pool in the backyard. There he sat for more than an hour eyeballing my three Chihuahuas that immediately signaled the alarm while on border patrol behind the screen. After listening to the Mexicans yap for much too long, I decided not so cleverly to take matters into my own hands and scare the gator away. Armed with a long-handled pool brush and wishing Steve Irwin were still alive, I nervously hit the ground several times with the brush as I walked toward Al. He didn’t move. I think I heard him laugh. Then, I backed off as the beast gave me what I presumed was the big stink eye. From behind, I heard one of my human neighbors, who had been observing my stupidity, say amusingly, “Proceed with caution… it’s mating season.”

Twitter Post By Fire Department Burns People Who Park In Front Of Hydrants

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — In a Twitter post Tuesday , the Anaheim Fire Department asks: “Ever wonder what happens when a car is parked in front of a fire hydrant and a fire breaks out? A California fire department enflamed some social media users but amused others by posting pictures of the busted-out windows of a car parked in front of a fire hydrant. Is a closer parking spot worth the broken windows and the citation and towing fees?” The post included four photos showing the sedan’s rear side windows busted out to make way for a fire hose. “We posted this incident to illustrate and educate, not to humiliate anyone,” the post said. One man joked: “The owner of that car is totally hosed.

The department penned a new post Wednesday after a virtual firestorm of responses, including many saying the hose could have gone over the car, or that the department shouldn’t have shamed the driver by posting the photos, which don’t include any identifying information. “In answer as to why break the windows instead of going under, over, or around the car … it doesn’t work. The hose needs a straight line out of the hydrant. We do not damage property unless it is needed.” The department further explained that putting the hose on top of the car would have caused “even more body damage.” Other users had little sympathy for the driver, with some saying there should be a special fine for slowing down firefighters when every second counts Rightfully so.

Centuries-Old ‘Witch Marks’ Found In Ancient Cave What The Hell Is Down There?

If there is a gateway to hell, a portal from the underworld used by demons and witches to wreak their evil havoc on humanity, then it could be in a small Creswell Crags cave. “What were they concerned about that they would go to this level? There is no area that hasn’t got a mark on it somewhere.” “You can’t help but wonder: How scared were they of something?” asked Paul Baker, director of Creswell Crags, an ancient cave system about 150 miles north of London. In what sounds like the opening scene of a horror movie, British cave enthusiasts have discovered hundreds of centuries-old protective marks and ritualistic drawings designed to capture, trap and repel evil forces. The nonprofit organization said it could be the largest collection of apotropaic marks in the United Kingdom. The drawings, which date to the medieval and early modern periods, had been spotted before but dismissed as graffiti from more recent eras.

However, cavers from the Subterranea Britannica organization noticed that the etchings we re actually apotropaic marks ― essentially protective marks ― scrawled all over the wells, ceilings and around holes and crevices, the cave’s operator said in a news release. The markings, at Creswell Crags, a limestone gorge on the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire border, include hundreds of letters, symbols and patterns carved, at a time when belief in witchcraft was widespread. The etchings include “diagonal lines, boxes and mazes” believed to be “devices for capturing or trapping ‘evil.’’ ” There are also V V marks that are believed to represent Mary, “Virgin of Virgins,” as well as P M, for “Pace Maria.” But it’s not clear what, specifically, the “witches’ marks” were aimed at. “It could be fairies, witches, whatever you were fearful of, it was going to be down there,” Alison Fearn, a University of Leicester expert on protective marks, told The Guardian. The cave’s organization said the marks could have been made to ward off sickness, death and poor crop yields.

Triggered By Oral Sex Woman Has Stroke Almost Dies

The Crow here for c4oc radio

According to a new report from the British Medical Journal, an unidentified 44-year-old woman suffered a “transient loss of consciousness (TLOC)” while receiving oral sex from her partner. The British woman had to go to the hospital after an intense impending orgasm triggered the stroke.
The woman was unconscious for two to three minutes after the sex, her partner got nervous and took her to the emergency room at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London. Doctors later learned she had experienced a blackout caused by a sudden lack of blood supply to the brain, also known a reflex-mediated syncope, according to IFLScience.com. The woman told doctors she had a headache that she described as a 6 out of 10 on the pain scale, according to the The Sun, the man told doctors his partner’s body had gone stiff during their session. At first, doctors believed, based on the symptoms, that the woman had suffered a seizure.

Multiorgasmic Entrepreneur

“On closer history taking, the patient reported nearing orgasm while receiving oral sex from her partner before losing consciousness,” the authors wrote in their report for the BMJ. A CT scan and a CT angiography showed she had an aneurysm, leading to a subarachnoid hemorrhage ― a kind of stroke. “Studies with intra-arterial monitoring during coitus demonstrate that during sexual activity blood pressure, as well as heart rate, is very labile, with particular rises during orgasm.” “Activities that involve sudden increases in blood pressure and sexual activity is well described as a precipitant,” they write in the case report. The researchers said it’s not unheard of for orgasms to cause stroke. The report said doctors treated the woman with a procedure called endovascular coiling, which uses a catheter to transmit a tiny coil to seal off the aneurysm from blood flow. She was released from the hospital 15 days later. Four months later, doctors say, she’s suffered no further problems.
