Here are some historic highlights in music history. Go make your own music history or share your some of your favorites. I’ve picked just three to highlight but you can read about more in my favorite music history link. http://www.thisdayinmusic.com/

On this day in 1963, The Rolling Stones  had a show at The Crawdaddy Club in Richmond. Every members of The Beatles were in the attendance.

On this day in 1969, The recording of ‘The Ballad Of John and Yoko’ took place with just Paul McCartney and John Lennon. McCartney played bass, drums and piano Lennon was on guitars and lead vocals. Originally the song was banned from many radio stations as being blasphemous.

On this day in 1972, David Bowie released ‘Starman’ as a single in the UK, which became his first hit since ‘Space Oddity’ in 1969. The song was on the album The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars RCA’s Dennis Katz insisted that it be included on the album after hearing the single.
